Working with EZproxy

EZproxy server is a library application maintained by Charles University Computer Centre. It provides access to electronic online resources under the rules associated with authentication settings and login accounts. The basic function is to provide information resources from a PC connected to the Internet anywhere (at home, at work, in an Internet cafe) on the same comfort level as from the computer study rooms at Charles University.

You will only need the web browser application and a valid account in ExternĂ odkaz Charles University Authentication Service.

First, it is necessary to select the desired resource. You can use ExternĂ odkaz Charles University Electronic Information Resources Portal. It covers all possible and accessible online resources available at Charles University.

Resources are sorted ExternĂ odkaz alphabetically, ExternĂ odkaz by domains and ExternĂ odkaz by faculties. It is possible to search for resources using the ExternĂ odkaz advanced search form.

After finding the desired resource - in this case EBSCOhost - it is necessary to find the link to EZproxy.

On welcome screen, click to the link for log in.

Logging in goes out of EZproxy interface on the Charles University Authentication Service server.

After successful login it is possible to start working with the desired information resource.

Known issues

  • Additional info about functionality in specific WWW browsers is available on the ExternĂ odkaz Technical details page.

  • For some unique resources you can meet the error message about improper use of the SSL certificate. In this case, please contact us, ideally by e-mail, and send us a screenshot with the error message.
